Ann

Alias Ann WILLOW
Alias Ann UKN F203
Born 21 May 1749, Poundstock, Cornwall
Buried 21 Jul 1815, Landulph Parish Church
The connection of the Triplett family with Poundstock is speculative, although some confirmation of the link is provided by the coincidence in the recorded birth year (1749) of the Ann Triplett of Poundstock, and the age of 66 recorded at her burial as the widow of John Willow in Landulph.

Mary = Josiah DEACON > Family

Married 10 Feb 1797, Landulph, Cornwall

Mary

Alias Mary DEACON
Christened 31 Mar 1771, Landulph Cornwall
Buried 9 Jan 1841, Landulph, Cornwall
Some intial confusion between two possible Mary Deacon's. A headstone in Landulph Churchyard records the burial of Mary Deacon 10 April 1811, the wife of Joseph Deacon. Originally there was some confusion of Joseph with Josiah since the graves re adjacent; however the inscriptions quite clearly distinguish Joseph and Josiah. The origin of Joseph, and the relationship with Josiah Deacon is not known

Josiah

Alias Josias DEACON
Alias Josiah DEACON
Christened 7 Oct 1770, Landulph, Cornwall
Died 22 Aug 1841, Tinnel, Landulph, Cornwall
Buried 26 Aug 1841, Landulph, Parish Church
Josias Deacon is mentioned in his father's will of 11 Jun 1824 and his joint legatee and executor along with his brother Thomas. There is some confusion with the name, with Josias and Josiah being used interchangeably, apparently.
A search of the CRO catalogue providest he following extracts as matches for 'Josiah Deacon' from Landulph parish
Apprenticeship indentures:
P107/14/133 Apprenticeship indenture, William Sambells, aged 9 years, to Josiah Deacon, 7 Apr 1817

P107/14/158 Apprenticeship indenture, Thomazine Moyse, aged 9 years, to Josiah Deacon, farmer, 6 Apr 1819

Also:
P107/21/9 Account of James Chubb and Josiah Deacon for transporting stone 1812

Under 'Josias Deacon' the following additional matches are found:
P107/14/148 Apprenticeship indenture, Jane Chubb, aged 9 years, to Josias Deacon, yeoman, 5 Jan 1818

P107/14/150 Apprenticeship indenture, Walter Deacon, aged 15 years, to Josias Deacon, yeoman, 5 Jan 1818

Josias/ Josiah Deacon's will is extracted in the CRO catalogue as 'Joscah Deacon', as follows:
AP/D/2373, Will of Joscah Deacon, yeoman, of Landulph, 1841
The will is in fact an admon granted to his son John Deacon. The additional signatures on the bond are Edward Deacon and John Popham, grocer, of Bodmin. The catalogue summary is in error since the name Josiah is clearly written on original document.

Jane

Alias Jane CHUBB (22 Jun 1801)
Christened 5 Aug 1781, Landulph, Cornwall

Family

Registers record the christening of a daughter, Ann Triplett, on 23 Jan 1768, to mother, Ann Triplett. No record of father or confirmation that the Ann bearing this child or Ann, John Willow's wife are one and the same person. However, the evidence of the 'bastardy bond' invloving Ann Triplett and John Willow gives a plausible scenario for John marrying Ann belatedly.
Bastardy bond held at Cornwall Record Office.
RefNo P107/16a/9
Title Female child to Ann Trepllat of Landulph, singlewoman
Date 6 Mar 1768
Description Bond: John and Richard Willow, yeomen of Landulph, £50.
The bond involves John and Richard Willow, implying that one of these is the father, but the extract gives no indication of which one this is. However, since Anne subsequently marries John Willow, it seems likely that he is the father and that the Richard Willow who also stands surety is his (John Willow's) father
