Note that there is some uncertainty as to the identification of the William DUN associated with the 1766 St Erth burial. The register notes 'of Crowan' whereas the births associated with this family are all registered in St Erth. Evidence of death and the identification with the correct William Dunne rests on the admon which, granted in 1736 to Margery, the wife of William Dunn the younger, clearly indicates a death before 1736. William Dunne would have been just 44 at the time which may account for the lack of a proper will. Also, it would appear that other, older William Dunne's were still alive at this time since he is designated 'the younger'..

For the rental account for the manor of Godolphin in 1750-1751 and 1751-1752, there is an entry for Richard Dunn (clear) £1 16s 0d
Communication from Barbara Schenk shows that Richard Dunn paid rates in St Erth from 1766 (when the rate accounts start) until 1775-76 when' Richard Dun's widow' is inserted in place of his name, thus providing further confirmation of his death.
Philippa

Surrender of 1768 lease on 1782 originally granted to Richard Donn of the parish of Crowan.
Reference to Philippa Dunn in document of 1782 gives her age as 68 years where she is one of the named lives. Since the lease was originally granted to Richard Donn (husband?) it is reasonable to assume that he had died before 1782
Richard Dun's widow paid rates in St Erth from 1776-77 until 1781-82 when her name is crossed out and Richard Champion's inserted.

An article in Devon & Cornwall Notes and Queries (Oct 1957), see Sources, lists the households assessed for the Poor Rate for Crowan parish in the year 1730-31. A certain Wm. Dunne is listed in Kerthen, together with the following households:Henr'y Jenkin, Jno Ripper, George Eustis, James Blight, George Wood, Jno Daws, Wm Hocken, Richard Rodda, Ann Man Widow, Stephen Dale & Richd Eustis.
It is seems likely that this Wm Dunne at Kerthen is identical with the William Dun of St Erth, particularly since the settlement of Kerthen, or Kerthen Wood, is on the boundary of the two parishes of Crowan and St Erth.
