Emigrated to Canada and married there. Later returned to England to take up the inheritance of Wayton from his uncle (sailing from Canada14 April 1932). He lived at Wayton from 1932 to 1938, eventually selling it to Miss Coryton
Little is known of William's life in Canada. He emigrated to Canada with his two sisters following the death of the parents. Thought to have worked as a lumberjack, or at some time prospected for gold (his daughter recalls that he had a rough nugget of gold made into a tiepin)
