No cycle tour can be complete without a good map. The Ordnance Survey website provides a list of map products. Unfortunately the standard mapping now available does not meet the needs of cyclists so well as the classic 1 inch to the mile of my youth |

This free site provides a searchable database of transcribed census returns for the Bristish Isles from 1841 to 1891. A good coverage for Cornwall and for Devon in some years is provided. |

The International Genealogical Index published by the Church of Latter Day Saints provides an invaluable genealogical record. If you are lucky, some of your ancestors may be included in the transcribed records available on-line. You can also find the 1881 UK census transcribed on this site. |

The 'on-line parish clerk' (not associated with the parish council of the present day) provides transcriptions of parish register entries. The coverage of 19th century entries is particularly valuable since these are not in the IGI. |
